What percentage of your collections are cash?
100%
How many years have you been a non-insurance dependent practice?
17
If you converted from insurance dependence to non-insurance dependence (NID), what percentage was insurance before?
NONE
Why type of practice do you have, i.e. family, wellness, sports, etc.?
Family Wellness/Sports
Why do you not take insurance?
Never made sense to me
Please share with us your number 1 best practice for being NID?
Give value, Give Value, Give Value... Meaning patients must connect the hip bone to the universe to get the big picture. Bridging that gap must be ingrained in every process and procedure in an office. It must be the center point of all education and marketing. When people know why they are there, they will figure out HOW to pay for it. IE, cash! And if you do it well enough, they will not only pay you cash, but bring their whole family and pay cash.
What advice do you have for chiropractors out there that are insurance dependent?
WAKE up. Read who move my cheese and realize that they need to find a better way. Get trained and get started today. The gravy train is pulling out and they will have an empty trough very soon.
Briefly, how did you switch over?
Never got started, but I have helped others by evaluating where they are, and systematically stopping these agreements by not renewing them, and begin giving massive value that most ins practices are not doing, because they "dont have to"
What were the largest hurdles?
Mindset of fear and lack. Thinking patients wont pay for it. Get that one solved and we are half way there.
