What percentage of your collections are cash?
100%

6 year
If you converted from insurance dependence to non-insurance dependence (NID), what percentage was insurance before?
NA
Why type of practice do you have, i.e. family, wellness, sports, etc.?
Wellness
Why do you not take insurance?
I prefer that my relationships with my patients are not being influenced by a 3rd party who does not hold the patients health as their priority.
Please share with us your number 1 best practice for being NID?
The number one best practice for not being insurance dependent is education. If patients truly understand the value of the care they will be willing to pay for it.
What advice do you have for chiropractors out there that are insurance dependent?
The advice I have is to get really honest with yourself whether or not being insurance dependent is congruent with your philosophy. Is being insurance dependent an authentic expression of your ideal practice? That question must be answered first. If the answer is no the next question is “is that the way you want to live your life?”.
Briefly, how did you switch over?
My transition is not from insurance dependent to non-insurance dependent but from underperforming to a thriving practice. The primary switch has been taking a hard look at my philosophy and my level of congruence. The next step has been identifying contradictions and getting way more proactive with my patient communication and education.
What were the largest hurdles?
My largest hurdles have been my own self-limiting beliefs and fears that have held me back from owning and sharing the truth of chiropractic.
