Years in practice?
What percentage of your collections are cash?
How many years have you been a non-insurance dependent practice?
If you converted from insurance dependence to non-insurance dependence (NID), what percentage was insurance before?
Why type of practice do you have, i.e. family, wellness, sports, etc.?
Chiropractic Epigenetic Care
Why do you not take insurance?
We will take it for the initial phase of care, but do not after that. It is not congruent with our model of care. My vision is to be your Chiropractic Health Doctor for your life, to allow you to reach great health for the next 70 years. Insurance does not care about that. I cannot work with an insurance company that either does not allow Chiropractic to unlock and unleash your health, or that stands directly opposed to our state license which states that I detect and correct vertebral subluxation.
Please share with us your number 1 best practice for being NID?
Freedom. Freedom from not having to worry if the cloaked shadow of the insurance company is lurking near your office to give you a screwgie. Let's be realistic, if the insurance company truly was looking out for the best health of their subscribers (our practice members), our offices would be too full to talk about this. They dictate care in medicine every day. They even dictate what garage you can take your car to when you get in an accident. But if they truly had the best of intention in for their subscriber they would demand they go to Chiropractors. They already have the information, the proof, the science, the studies. I have been in practice long enough to know it is time for me to take the reins and lead the horses. No one cares more about my health than me. No one cares more about my practice than me.
What advice do you have for chiropractors out there that are insurance dependent?
Do it now by choice or be forced to by the massively unreasonable paperwork, deadlines, and lowered pay. It is your choice.
Briefly, how did you switch over?
Making plans for all of our practice members and decreasing the amount that insurance played in it. Once they are set up on monthly fees it gets much easier.
What were the largest hurdles?
My vision was not bigger than my fear. And then finding someone who had been there before me to show me the way. That is where FreeForm came into play.
